Bio-Health Pod Expense Approval

We hope this email finds you well.  On Monday, May 4th the SBIA Board and members held a Zoom call with the Bio-Health Pod System’s owner, Rich Baum, for a presentation and overview of their product which will help reduce the amount of algae, invasive weeds, and muck in our canal.  As previously noted, the system works by dosing, hosting, growing and distributing billions of beneficial bacteria.  These naturally occurring bacteria consume and digest muck on the lake bottom as well as excessive nutrients suspending in the water column.  Installed systems have proven to greatly reduce muck allowing healthy aquatic life to thrive.  Systems remain in place cost effectively continuing to reduce the muck.  The Bio-Health Pod System includes a bio generator, a home basin for powering the generator, and satellite nano pods for additional support.  If you would like more information, please visit their website at http://www.rigero.com.

The presentation was very informative, and the Board has decided to move forward in the process of approving this project.  To be compliant with our By-laws, all non-budgeted expenditures exceeding $250 must be approved by a majority vote at a general meeting or advertised special meeting.  Given the 2020 approved budget did not include this specific expense, we are scheduling a special general membership meeting for approval of this expense tomorrow, Friday May 8th at 5pm.

We would like to extend an invite to all members for a Zoom conference call for a final approval vote.  Although we would prefer an in-person meeing at the marina, we must comply with the Governor’s orders and avoid any large group gatherings.  If you would like to attend the meeting, please email [email protected] to reserve your spot and we will send an invitation to you.
